design every moment
Make it easy. Make it smart. Make it meaningful.
Hi, I’m Patrick McVicker.
I’m a visual and user experience designer based in Tacoma, Washington.
Maybe you’ve got great content, products, or services but you need the design and user experience to back them up.
I focus on the outcomes. Sometimes this means trying something new and sometimes it means relying on tried and true solutions. My goal is improving, amplifying, and broadening our customer’s experience while ensuring success.
User experience should be practical, easy, and complementary to desired outcomes for the tools, services, and experiences we provide. Typical users don’t notice details, but subtle differences can influence a complete and successful experience.
I’ve worked for many years as a librarian, an expert in finding answers and resources for every type of need. Applying this to visual and user experience design helps me find creative solutions for every problem.
Being strongly oriented to and empathizing with everyday users is paramount to delivering great experiences, in either digital or physical solutions.
CONCEPT
As a life-long library user I’ve been disappointed by the evolution of online library catalogs. I thought I’d try my hand at tackling many of their problems without sacrificing the value and usability of the traditional paradigm.
Send me a message and we can talk about how I might be able to help you reach your goals.
